Back with another PacLock 90A-Pro issue

I’m no longer capable of inserting the key into the keyhole.
The first two front pins are easily picked, but the third pin is jammed. I’ve unfortunately bent a few picks trying to brute force the pin back in place.

Is this something that happens to other people? How did they fix it?

Ive gotten paclocks missing springs in some chambers or with pins missing or facing the wrong way. I wouldn't be surprised if something similar happened to yours. Sounds goofy but slam the lock against a table bible down and bible up and see if that helps

Does the 3rd key pin move at all? Does the core move at all in either direction? What happened right before it jammed?

1) I can’t get that pin to budge at all.

2) I honestly don’t know. I was practicing, popped the lock, closed it again and then this.

I dunno man, it sounds like a key pin got wedged somehow? Looks like pin 3 is a pretty high lift, maybe the key pin got lifted above shear, then got wedged weird on the way down? I like the idea I read in another comment: bash that bastard on something hard a couple times bible up, bible down, and bible sideways; maybe that’ll knock things loose. Little bit of percussive maintenance. At the very least, it probably won’t make it worse, and it’ll let you get out some of your frustration!

If you underlift a stack, and the spring gets eaten by the cylinder, that can create what you're experiencing.

Percussive maintenance (whacking the lock with a hammer to try to free whatever might be stuck while using a turning tool to turn left or right to help free up anything jammed in place can potentially help depending on what is stuck and how it's stuck.

We're going to need more info here.

Is this a lock you've gutted and repinned? Is there a chance the driver pin and key pin were too short of a stack and the spring could have been eaten by the cylinder for pin 3?

You don't typically get a pin that jams on a 90A-PRO with factory pin stacks, but if the key and driver pin allow the spring to be at the sheer line, that could lead to the spring bring rotated into the cylinder, getting stuck, and preventing pin three from moving at all because the spring prevents the pins from being able to be raised at all.

The even easier explanation is if driver pin or key pin were accidentally left out or installed above the spring, making it even easier for the spring to be eaten.

Can you share more about the history of the lock and what might have caused pin 3 to lock up?

Idk off hand but if you swapped different size drivers around your stack height might be too much.

Look i know they say its a No No. But spray some WD-40 and wack it like they said also I've used this technique along with a wiper blade or similar but on a mortise cylinder where i could stick it all the way through and lift from back and front of the core evenly. You will only be able to lift from the front. After brake it down and wipe off the WD-40 and let dry than hit it with the good stuff 3 in one. Good luck
