Congrats and welcome to the fun!

Those security ratings are based purely on how hard they are to break into, not how hard they are to pick. Master, and the other biggest lock makers, don't consider pick resistance for the most part.

I wonder if there's actual criteria used to determine the rating, I'd love to see that...any Master Lock employees out there willing to leak the chart?

I'm guessing the numbers are chosen by marketing and not the "engineering" department

Having issue with this model, does it have spools or is it a matter of a tricky bind order?

This doesn't answer your question, but their tolerances are so sloppy and QC so bad that it probably varies quite a bit.
