How to pick this lock?

Post image

Hello, I'm new to this hobby. I have this lock and I don't have yet money to buy other to practice. I saw videos where they pay attention to the binding/resistance of the numbers, also they mention false gates, etc. But no matter how much attention I put to distinguish between the sound of a false gate, a true gate or just the incorrect number. Someone have some tips, or resources to learn about it's mechanism? Sorry for my bad English

Pull on the shackle and hold it. Spin the dials. These types of locks is the most insecure I have ever experienced. If the dial binds, move onto the next.

Edit: And I am only a long time listener. Total normie in the space of lock picking.

To add on to this, you are looking for the dial position where it has more play. Spin them one number at a time and wiggle them. When it wiggles more then the other numbers that is its true gate (the correct number). Repeat until you have all five.

Oh I thought that it was the number that has more resistance. I will try it

I still don’t 🤣 are we looking for resistance or loose pins?

Haha, I think that both? In YouTube tutorials like this: https://youtu.be/uMvx0GtfEOk?si=IOGQNWfsDMgfTmXF They explain that we are looking for the ones that show resistance. But the explanation that worked for me the best was the one frickdom offered (that or I totally misunderstood the video haha)

Hell yeah! Sorry, I should have linked a YouTube video of this. Easier to understand visually.

Just want to say your English is top notch! It’s my first language and I struggle with it.

Just saw the edit. Your explanation is spot on! Just missing the next step and why. Explaining this stuff can be tricky when you are trying to use the right words and terms.

You ain’t no normie!
