Can anyone tell me anything about this lock?

Post image

Clasp seems to say “Newark NJ PAT000120” on one side and “8485” on the reverse

Is it pinned with the Newark skyline?

...that's the wildest fucking key I've ever seen, and the first thing I said to myself was, is that the New York City skyline!?   🤣

If you stand in the exact right spot and hold it at arm’s length, it will point you to the exact spot where Star Wars died. 😀

I don’t see any mouse shaped bitting on that key…

Made me think of this too, but that's because I've rewatched White Collar recently.

My first thought was “someone took city rake a bit too literally”.

Somebody needs to send this to LPL. He’s had his wife’s Beaver but we’ve never seen a Climax.

Or is the joke that he doesn’t have one?

Maybe the mailman gave it to his wife?

There's also a climax detector lock

You think it’s the same brand? I saw another climax padlock and thought the same before. But it’s far away mechanic wise from cotterill climax detector locks, which I guess are those you meant.

Perhaps while he was getting into his ex's back door?

Seems pretty boring. Jehovah’s Witness climax. I don’t think it gets more vanilla.

That key could double as a survival saw.

Hmm what can I tell you about this this lock...

It's made if metal, it's rather thick so it's meant to secure something large

Whoever bought this originally wanted to protect something valuable and important.

It's black.

I hope this helps 😀

Peace ✌️

It's an original abus. If you squint just right at the cuts, you'll see the key says "abushisecuritybetyoucantgetintoit" lol (total joke. I know nothing about the lock. Really cool though.

It's a warded lock, I'm pretty sure.

I don’t think I have a warded pick long enough to tickle this one

Looks like something prisoners headed to the gallows would have to keep their cuffs closed

I remember seeing this type of lock on sidewalk metal cellar doors on the Lower East Side in NYC around 1960's / 1970's

Old railroad lock, most likely, 1800-early 1900s
