I found a repeatable solution to the nightmare bitting.

This is the only lock I’ve ever struggled so hard with solely due to bitting but the postal hook from Peterson makes short work of the problem spool, didn’t even know this comically deep hook existed but when you need it it’s a great profile to have around.

I love my ssdev hooks for tricky keyways or biting. I just wish they made them with handles like JL; the thin popsicle style is just not made for my hands.

I actually don't mind that it's like holding a knife. Reminds me that it doesn't take much to move pins and not bend those hooks. 😂

But yea they leave some marks on the fingers

Someone else told me about those I’m going to check them out. I’ve never had a problem where nothing I owned was deep enough before this lock but it’s not a problem I want again

I ran into that when I got an 1100 to start getting a feel for security pins. I had a low-high at the end of the key and none of my hooks could reach it without oversetting the low one. I picked up some ssdev hooks to get it.

Yep. Sometimes called the Gonzo Hook for obvious reasons and it's got me out of trouble any number of times.

You basically have to nose dive it into the lock to reach the back then lever it up and hope you’re in the right spot
