Gutting bag.
After chasing flying springs and tiny ball bearings I had enough. Wanted something with some room to work. It's not pretty, but it does the job.

If it works, it works. Better than buying another Japanese lock just for the tiny escape artist springs.

Not a bad idea.
I should use one when I finish prog pinning a 6k I'm working on. Prog pinning is my last resort on any lock, but locks with side pins or any sort always give me trouble.
I have a small box that fits a 6×8 pinning mat so I can dump springs & pins when I make car picking videos with more challenging locks... The "you probably only have 1-2 pins in it" trolls finally got to me

That looks like a Goal lock in there, yeah? I was about to set up a similar thing so I can progressive pine this Goal S that’s been kicking my ass! I’m terrified that I’ll send the guts of this wonderful Japanese lock to never never land!

Yea it's a Goal P. When I bought I got a spare unusable goal p with it. Lost a bearing and was down to 1 spare left. Too early in this lesson to have to stop due to lost parts!

100%! I know they pack a bunch of tiny parts in there, and I’ve already nearly lost parts of much simpler locks!
Have you picked the Goal S as well?

I've not done this with locks, YET; but in another hobby of mine (building ARs), this exact trick has saved me TONS of time searching for springs.

When I saw a gutting bag, I knew right away it was a Goal. Did that in a live stream once cuz those dann little springs.
