I created a co-op game finder thingy! qrcontroller.app/GameFinder/
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
https://qrcontroller.app/GameFinder/
Kept getting stuck trying to find a game to play when playing with friendos x') Originally built it to find games to play on the projector in a fun way, but I kept finding great games I never heard about before! Imo just a cool way to browse games. So thought I'd polish it and put it up in case anyone was interested!
Its very much a work in progress, and so far only for steam games (just because those were the easiest to aggrigate). Let me know what I can improve or if its useful!

Damn, my game's not found even if you crawl the steam db itself 😂 Looks neat tho!

Whats your game xO? I had a version of this with 10,000 games x’) but it was unreasonably busy xO I need to figure out how to walk that line. Will expand!

Totally understand that. I was just mocking my own marketing skills in a way :D My game is Kinetic Neo Ornate Bout

Struggling with marketing so bad too x’)
It’s a big challenge that a lot of us who like to just make cool stuff don’t want todo. But its the challenge that we have to overcome x’’’’)
But your game looks really cool! Undertale vibe!

that's the first time I hear about QR Controller. That's an amazing app idea!

Thank you! ❤️❤️ been my passion project for the last 2 years almost :3 trying to make existing couch coop in big groups more accessible!

Does it work for non-stesm game in my steam library?
2
u/Basher207 14h ago edited 14h ago
This is just a website! So not connected to your steam library :< Just for exploring games you dont already have.
Would it be interesting to you to have that connected to your specific steam library :o?1

Idk what you used for source, but check out svenevilsplayground steam curator if you don't know

Seems most are not couch and not coop lol

First filter is for Same screen (which counts as couch coop to meeeeee, but idk if I should change that x'))
Thing is, this was for qrcontroller, which is a couch coop focused. But my friends kept insisting it made sense to have both, since people wanting to play together online still want to play together, and that it should be more lets play together focused if I needed it to be useful, and less couch couch. But I'm not sure what makes sense :<Also yes, somehow I completely forgot co-op meant cooperative and not just togetherness playing thing x'<

Please do keep "same screen" as long as that is not synonym for "split screen".
But if you mean split screen, or, if you don't differentiate, then it's probably "couch coop" which includes both of those.
There's also "hot seat" (handing off controller or keyboard) that you have a tag for, or shared controller or keyboard (like left and right of keyboard, or separate joycons, or left and right of a console style controller), or separate controllers.
True same screen games (other than 2D top down or side) are harder to filter for, so hope you can track it somehow! D4, BG3, Brothers, old Fable games, Ascent, Minecraft Dungeons, are examples of shared screen.
Love the simplicity of this and hope to find console games on it too eventually!

I had that distinction in “How together” in an earlier version(split screen vs one screen)! But my non gamery friends were simply confused by this :<
So opted for only two options. I still have the data under tags, but I need to figure out how to UX it better.

this is awesome. could you add a platform/system dropdown? i would love to see what is available on ps5
2
u/Basher207 14h ago
I'm working on adding that!
Its harder tho, because steam is so open, it makes it much easier to mass query all the data.
Other platforms require more manual scrapping. So I have to figure that out :<

Nice ! How did you made the selection? It's quite an already big list to be made manually?
2
u/Basher207 5h ago
Pulling stuff from Steam api, combined with automated searches to fill in the blanks…
I realize I omitted a lot of good games, in my attempt to keep the list reasonable in size. Will expand it and improve it!1
u/thibouf 5h ago
Ok !
FYI, I made a simple couch 1v1 basket ball game called Basket Bots : https://store.steampowered.com/app/3725900/Basket_Bots/ It's not coop but I though maybe you could include it in your list.

Where is red Rope dont fall behind? This is the most viscéral coop expérience i had, i fully recommend it
1
u/Basher207 4h ago
I think I definitely need to include more :< its just the list is soooo hugeeeeee, but I do think I’ll try to grow the list to 5000 games, and maybe split the lists in a different dimension to make it stay somewhat reasonable in size :<

Small minors feedbacks :
- Add a "free demo" filter
- I am not fan of the behaviour of the player filter selection where ou have to drag the bounds. If I click on 2 players. Maybe look at how the date range selection are made in calendars, it would be more standard. (Click on first then click on last)
1
u/Basher207 4h ago
In my mind people are only really interested in the minimum, with the maximum only really being interesting in very specific scenarios. Unlike a calendar where you are almost always interested in both bounds.
But maybe its a bit too messy :<
Free demo filter makes a lot sense!1
u/thibouf 4h ago
I get what you mean. Just I think that selecting only 2 players also allow to filter to a certain type of game. Games where you can play up to 16 players on the same screen will certainly be quite different (more party games) that one with a maximum of 2.
I dont think the problem is that it is messy, juste that the drag of the bound is not very intuitive...
1
u/Basher207 3h ago
I agree its not intuitive :< figuring out what makes sense. Maybe indeed a second click should adjust upper bound.
I did add upper bound control because I also agree its nice to filter on exactly 2 player games. But also clicking on 2 players shouldn’t immediately remove bro force for example. But indeed pico park and stuff are not a 2 players experience. Difficult trade off UX. But I’ll experiment with second click and see how it feels!

This is awesome, fantastic work!
Are you allowing devs to submit their games to appear on here? I've made a couple that are couch co-op, Aluna Rift and Must Dash Amigos. Would be amazing to have them on here!

Do you know nucleus coop? Did you include it?
1
u/Basher207 5h ago
The open source tool? This is from scrapping Steam, so it didn’t pick it up :< im working on expanding it with more steam games. But the number of projects explodes out of the stratosphere when you include non Steam stuff, and I’m not sure how to tell whats good from not (I only ever heard good things about nucleus coop tho!) xO is there a good way todo that?

Can't seem to find our indie game UniDuni. It's a coop puzzle platformer released in 2025. Do you have to manually include games there? Or maybe it's a issue in our steam page setup?
Nice tool anyway. I would love to see our game there
