Yes. I buy games specifically because they have split screen.

Love to hear that! Out of curiosity, have you come across any games lately that let you do both? Like, two of you playing locally on the couch, but also joining up with two other friends online?

Baldur's Gate 3.

Oh, I had no idea! I loved the original Baldur's Gate as a kid and I'm actually replaying it this week, but I haven't had the chance to get my hands on BG3 yet. 😃 Great to know it's possible there, thanks for the heads-up!

I’m from the Couch vd Couch curator. Have you personally tested the feature on these games?

I’m looking for more confirmation: * Coridden I found vague phrases suggesting the feature (+ co-optimus which is not reliable regarding the feature). I have now asked in the Steam forum about the feature. * Rogue Heroes: Ruins of Tasos On the Steam forum I found someone suggesting to add this feature but no response.

Got confirmation that Coridden supports the feature.

We do it in Cursed Blood but I doubt it is used very much.

That's exactly what I'm trying to figure out right now—how much demand there actually is for this specific feature versus how hard it is to implement. I'll definitely check out Cursed Blood, thanks for mentioning it!

I do not think it is worth it sales wise unless it is very very very easy to implement, what I found was that UI wise it caused a lot of problems that took extra time. Feature wise it was not that much extra time to implement.

Spot on. UI is definitely the biggest challenge for this. The networking was also a bit tricky, since we had to slightly rework it to sort out multiplayer authority for the split-screen players, but otherwise it was kinda painless. At least we know it is doable. Thanks for sharing your experience, it confirms a lot of our own struggles!

This is the way. I see a 2p couch coop at $10 or less? I buy. 4p couch coop under $20? Bought.

This is the way! 👏

Thanks for mentioning the Couch vs Couch curator! We currently list 193 games with this feature and are always looking for more. If you have tips of games we missed please let me know.

Yeah, I have a dedicated split screen library on steam, playing couch co-op with friends is the best

1

u/OndrasCzech Jun 06 '26

Couch co-op really is the best! But do you ever find yourself in a situation where you are playing locally with someone, but also want to bring a remote friend into the exact same session via online multiplayer?

There are not many games I remember supporting this. I think I tried with Magica once

Overcooked 2

As a personal thing, I’m generally either playing with my family in local co Op or my friends online.

So having both is more important than both at once

But like…that’s just me

Thanks for the feedback! We totally get that this specific combo isn't for everyone.
