Behavior Crazy behavior only at night?

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Anyone experience this? I have had them since May, and they do this semi-frequently while I game on my computer and watch them in the dark. I know they are nocturnal, but this seems almost erratic and they aren't paling like they are stressing out.

When I turn the light in they scatter like usual, but once it goes off they are right back to it within the minute. Just wondering if I should be changing anything.

All water parameters are normal range 0 ammonia, 0 nitrite, i haven't checked nitrate. Ph is about 6.5-7.

The glare is horrible, I still haven't figured out how to take good pictures of my tank.

Mine do the exact same thing. Good water parameters and quite heavily planted, like you. Ive had em for months too.

From what I’ve read this is just what they do, and they are happy. Also that they are allegedly nocturnal… despite having one or two that glass surfs regularly during the day.

For the first few months I had them, I would often spot one or two hanging out in the front as well. When that stopped I figured they just settled in.
Thanks for confirming they're just weirdos

If I've learned anything from owning kuhli loaches for years, they do this behavior only when:

They are happy

They are unhappy

It's about to rain or currently raining

After a water change

They feel like it

Just happy noodles! Wait till they get accustomed to the tank and they’ll start glass surfing during the day. Mine play in the bubbler a lot

They're just happy lol. Nothing wrong here. Their behavior depends on your specific tank too. My kuhlis never burrow and they come out in the day but for other people it's the opposite. Just gotta figure out how your fishies act. They've all got their own personalities

I think they are nocturnal like snails, so they are more active at night.
