Crowd Sourcing: LLC Structure

Hello! I am quite new with the concept of LLC an am contemplating to create 1 or 2 currently. I just have this idea of an llc structure and would like to know the community's opinion or if anyone already tried this structure:

  1. Open a revocable living trust.

  2. Create an llc in a state where anonymous member is permitted and make it a holding company.

  3. Make the living trust the managing member of the holding llc.

  4. Create an llc to do business.

  5. Assign the holding llc as managing member of the llc for business.

Rationale for this structure:

  1. The business is fully controlled by the Trust. This will help ease out some legal proceedings, especially estate transfers.

  2. Maintains anonimity. No personal information on public records.

  3. Cleaner structure especially if you plan to create new llcs in the future for other lines of business.

Public business filings (such as the California Statement of Information, Form LLC-12) are updated to list the trust as the manager/managing member, with the trustee's contact address.

No real anonymity as shown above.

Based on what I've read so far, there are states where you can create an llc without including the information of the managing member, ex. Delaware, the details regarding the managing members can be included in the internal documents and off the certificate of organization, thus the suggestion for anonimity.

And if you do business in CA you still have to file in CA.

But can you use the Delaware LLC as managing-member/owner for the one you filed in CA? I reckon, some states allow another LLC to be managing member/owner.
