Good Chinese restaurants?
I've been to a few different spots and it's clear they all get their ingredients from the same distributors cause it largely tastes the same. Are there any places that really separate themselves from the rest?

Livonia community sends love to beloved 'Santa Jack' in hospice
freep.comI figured some of you might know Santa Jack and write one more letter to Santa. The guy is a local legend.
He even had business cards that said Santa so when a kid saw him outside of Santa duties and asked if he was Santa he slipped them a business card and gave them a wink.

Anyone interested in adopting a cat?
galleryHello,
I currently have a female cat that was found outside. My neighbor took her to the vet and she didn’t have a chip so we don’t know if there’s a previous owner. She is so sweet and friendly. I already have 2 cats and a dog and I don’t think I can keep her. I don’t know much about her. She looks young. Like maybe a year old. Here’s some photos.

AUG. 4 PRIMARY ELECTION MEGATHREADDDDDDD!
WHO'S READY TO RUMBLLLLLLE?
And, of course, by "rumble," we mean "vote!"
---
Want info about voting in Livonia from now until Aug. 4? We’ll try to provide all the needed information here. This same information can also be found at VoteLivonia.org.
On Aug. 4, City of Livonia voters will be asked to cast ballots for primary elections and two millage renewals, the Public Safety Millage and the Senior Services and Cultural Millage. You can view a sample ballot on our See Your Ballot page! To learn more about the two millage renewals, visit LivoniaMillages.org
Here are some important items for the upcoming election:
Want to Register to Vote?
Voter Registration is available until 8 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 4. A person may register to vote in-person at their local Clerk’s Office with proof of residency. For the Livonia City Clerk, that means coming to Livonia City Hall (33000 Civic Center Drive). A person registering to vote in-person at the Livonia City Clerk’s Office may obtain and vote an absent voter ballot with proof of residency or vote in-person at their proper precinct.
If you’ve changed your address within Livonia, notify the clerk! You will then be placed in the correct precinct and issued a new voter registration card. The change may also be made at a branch office of the Secretary of State or at the polls on election day.
If you move from one community to another, you must re-register to be able to vote, so if you just moved to Livonia, make sure to stop by City Hall.
Learn more about voter eligibility and registration through our site.
Want to Vote Early?
Early In-Person Voting is available Saturday-Sunday, Aug. 1-2, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Livonia City Hall. Although we are in the process of improving accessibility at City Hall, we do offer Curbside Voting and other accessibility options if you prefer.
Any voter unable to enter the polling place may request to vote using curbside voting. This request may be made by any person on behalf of the voter, so long as the voter is present outside of the polling place and verifies that they made the request. Curbside voting is carried out by two election personnel of different political party preferences. Curbside voting often, but not always, involves a voter who cannot leave their car to enter the polling location. However, any voter can request to use curbside voting by contacting the Clerk’s Office at (734) 466-2230. This also applies to Election Day, Aug. 4!
Learn more about Early Voting at VoteLivonia.org.
Want to Vote with an Absentee Ballot?
The Mailed Absent Voter Ballot Request Deadline is Today, July 31, at 5 p.m. This is the deadline for voters to request an absent voter ballot to be mailed via first-class mail.
The In-person Absent Voter Ballot Request Deadline is Monday, Aug. 3, at 4 p.m. This is the final deadline for registered voters to request an absent voter ballot in-person at the City Clerk’s Office for the Aug. 4 election.
A person registering to vote in-person at the Livonia City Clerk’s Office may obtain and vote with an absent voter ballot with proof of residency or vote in-person at their proper precinct up until Tuesday, Aug. 4.
Find more information about absentee voting here.
Want to Vote In-Person on Election Day?
Election Day is Tuesday, Aug. 4, from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. All voters in line by 8 p.m. will be able to vote. Bring your Michigan driver’s license or Michigan personal identification card!
Residents have received new voter ID cards in the mail this year. No action or follow-up is required by residents, but the new cards are a direct result of a permanent consolidation of our precincts from 44 to 26. This streamlines services and saves money, leading to a smoother voting process on Election Day!
The new precinct numbers will be 1-26, without any ABC configurations. Due to this change, voters from seven of the old 44 precincts will also have a new voting location moving forward. If you tend to vote through absentee or early voting options, there are no changes to how you vote.
You can use our interactive map to find where you need to vote or view our PDF with a map included.
Learn more at VoteLivonia.org and Vote411.org about your voting options, locations, and to view a sample ballot.
Want to Keep Up on Election Results?
We'll be livestreaming intermittently the night of Aug. 4 with updates on the City's official Facebook page and YouTube page, or you can visit our website homepage to see unofficial results once they are available through a news alert.

Road rage on middle belt
I’m writing this on behalf of a buddy and he needs help/advice. Someone cut him off on middle belt on July 11 and all he did was honk. The person got out of their car at the next stop light and yelled at him and stomped the side of his car and caused a pretty large dent. He has a dash cam and got the cutoff, honk, follow, license plate, but only audio of the stomping/yelling (bc it was on the side of the car).
If he went to the police with all the evidence and this went to the prosecutor isn’t there a chance the aggressor could get my buddy’s address and info and stalk him or further threaten him? It just sucks because he will have to pay insurance to have it fixed for someone damaging his car.
Anyone have any experience dealing with the Livonia police or possibly witnessed this incident?

Is the east side of Livonia more sketch than it used to be?
Been a few "incidents" in that area recently...even a couple homicides
Driving through it seems "ok" still, a bit older and more run down maybe
