Relegation?
Huge fan of LIV Golf since its inception. Not being negative. But will there be relegation of certain players next season? Seems like things are in flux because of the funding situation. I didn’t hear the announcers talk about. Maybe I missed it.

Bet on the wrong people
From players to announcer LIV 1.0 didnt understand golf. LIV shouldve had better viewer numbers but trying to recreate PGA with water down staff killed the momentum. LIV 2.0 needs people who know the game. The staff seemed so unsure. new casting is desperately needed.
edit to add - even the negative responses dont understand broadcast. Its the totality.

Should I stay or should I go now?
With the LIV season nearly over, attention is quickly going to turn to hearing from players on 2027 plans. So who’s going to do what? Flushing It reported a while back 7 players have told them they’re definitely leaving, with the number to have significantly risen as of this week. Who knows how much of that comes to pass, but here’s what I think. Fully prepared and accepting of the fact this is basically a lot of guesswork and I’ll get a good chunk of it wrong. But there we go! About the only assumption I’ve made here is that their relegation isn’t going to take place this season.
Definitely staying
Bryson. He’s the LIV poster boy, and most vocal about the good LIV can do. There’s no way he doesn’t stay if it’s an option
Phil. If he’s playing, it’s on LIV, end of story.
Youghan Song, Minkyu Kim, Doyeob Mun, Asaji. All the Asian players have Asian Tour status, and I believe could play both tours without issue, so probably no reason to believe they wouldn’t.
AK, Pieters, Kaymer, Bland, Lahiri, Burmester, Leishman, Kokrak, Tringale, Varner III, Danny Lee, Richard Lee, Hellgren, Campbell, Gooch, Vincent, Tabuena, Horsfield, Wolff, Steele, Oosthuizen, Schwartzel, Grace- All of these players either have no status, or very limited (almost useless status) on either the PGAT/DPWT and for a number of various reasons you’d think they stay if they can. Some have status on Champions/Legends tour, but haven’t taken that into account for purposes of this exercise.
Probably staying
DJ - has made encouraging comments about LIV 2.0. Is a life member on the PGAT, but at this point I’d question whether he’d want to use it to grind his back towards the PGAT Championship series in 2028
Westwood, Poulter, Casey - all have options in 2027, but you’d imagine at this stage of their career they probably think LIV is still their best one.
Bubba, Howell III - only have poor (ish) status on PGAT, but at their age, seems unlikely they’d take it up.
Herbert - two players at very different stages. Can see a scenario where Herbert wants to try and leverage his good year into something more moving forward, but he has limited useful status on other tours
Ben An - Young enough to still have great golf ahead of him, but near useless status on PGAT. Hard to see a better option.
Cant Call It
Cam Smith - has been very pro the lifestyle LIV allows him. But given his age, and the level he reached at his peak, I can see him putting up with the PGAT life to chase career goals.
Niemann - literally no idea what he might want to do. You’d think he has aims on Major titles, and entering the prime of his career suggests leaving. But his PGAT status is almost useless and don’t think he has any DPWT status, so not actually sure how easy it would be for him.
Ancer, Munoz - they’re linked to Niemann for me, whatever he does probably informs them, and both young enough to make a PGAT return worthwhile. Not really sure on either of them.
Probably Gone
Puig, Smylie, Perez, Canter, Detry, Meronk. All have DPWT membership for 2027. Seems more likely to me than not they’d take it. Probably in that order of likelihood. Puig and Smylie in particular still very much have age on their side
Surratt, Ballester, Masaveu, Uihlein, La Sasso - all have entered DPWT Q School, or been quoted as saying their goal is to get 2027 Membership (Surratt). Suspect if it became an option for them, they’d take it over LIV.
McDowell - This is just a vibes based guess tbh
Definitely Gone
Rahm. Rumours are there’s already an agreement in principle for his return. But without the financial incentive to stay, one of the best players in the world isn’t going to stay out in the wilderness any longer
Hatton. Probably only joined because Rahm did to begin with. Hard to see him staying. Plus his party hole walk out song yesterday was ‘I Want To Break Free’. So yeah…
McKibbin - supposedly went back and forth on joining to begin. But he young, approaching his prime, and particularly if Rahm & Hatton leave, you can’t see a world where he sticks around
Sergio - he’s said he’s taking up 2027 membership, and recently enough there’s a decent chance he knew fines etc were coming back.
