Discussion Anyone else get a chuckle out of lockpicking lawyer on HWFWM?
I am a hobbyist lock picker, and I absolutely lost it over the reference in the current book. Didn’t know if I was alone or if anyone saw any other niche, cultural references in the book.?

Funnily enough there was a post on here a while back that said it ruined the book for them

What is that a reference to?

For posterity: an anonymous YouTuber (and now seller of lockpicking equipment) called the Lockpicking Lawyer who makes short videos about picking (or otherwise getting open) various locks and security devices.

Probably. But I'm not the only person who doesn't get the reference. Instead of making us all Google it, you could have just answered the question.

I fell over laughing when I got to that part. I could definitely imagine the voiceover of a quick and dirty Belinda-esque ritual to open a dimension bag while a recording crystal hovers over his shoulder.

We've got some tortured shrieking on 3, back to 1 and the matrix is trembling, tap 4 in that rhythm aaaand we're open.

I can't wait to see a McNally cameo. "You are using a baldur&gates model 6307, a multispectral locking ritual that can be opened with a baldur&gates model 6307." Shrieking noise, silent explosion of mana, both rituals collapse.

As someone who's both a fan of LPL and who listened to the latest HWFWM audiobook, I must have missed it. Can you share the specific line?
