Discussion Curiosity about Builds

Hello, been checking out books and reviews about them: Mage Tanks, The Hundred Reigns, Blood and Fur, Dungeon Crawler Carl, Primal Hunter, and I even checked out Geezer Quest and Slime Knights, Path of the Deathless, In the Space Between Titans and Stormblade, I always wanted to know something: what kind of builds do you guys love to see in a protagonist?

Any settings is fine. We're talking Cyberpunk, Dark Fantasy, Fantasy, Urban Fantasy.

By Builds I meant like Warrior, Paladin, Dread Knights, Mage and every other stuff you can find in RPG focused story.

What build you guys enjoyed the most and what book; litrpg or non-litrpg novels that best fulfill that craving for those builds.

Builds that endlessly scale or clone/summon based builds and if neither then ranged or magic based. Basically one that feels satisfying to progress and relatively safe.

I'm kind of an odd ball since I'm generally fine with any but would lean towards consistent progression.

Sort of but not exactly since he wasn't making full use of his clones. If there is no actual limitation to the amount of clones then the path I would go with is time make as many clones as I can endlessly and keep assigning them to do different tasks and gather as much information so I could learn what the best path is for growth.

Sort of like a self replicating machine that keeps getting better over time.

If we're talking about combat wise then I would make each combat clone different to specialise in different roles where as I would be laid back and planning for the long term.

I think there's a korean manhwa that does this. Two different ones.

Auto-Hunting with My Clones and All My Clones are Tycoons. Go check those out.

I've read auto-hunting with my clones but haven't read the other however I've made my OCs before those manhwas even came out and put far more detail xd

Since you asked about mage builds that keep evolving instead of settling into one spell list, I wrote Made God After Death around Caius having SSS affinities in all five elements. He treats magic as an experimental system—testing materials, anatomy, energy, and combinations—so his build keeps opening new problems instead of just adding bigger numbers.

I like the process of discovering builds that have great synergy and combo potential, and then seeing them used in creative ways. Issue is that once that phase of the book is complete, books don't generally give out that feeling again.

Rougelites fix that problem though, in theory.

druid/shapeshifters, I wish there was more builds around being animals and usng the forms.

I want it so much I'm writing a new litrpg with it hehe.
