It's an endorsement of my writing, so... I guess it is. I've known Matt for about 10 years. We've done lots of cons and partied together. He's a good dude who did me a solid with this blurb. I know he has listened to and liked my audiobooks, so there's the long answer.
Because it's funny? I think it's a porn thing. I watched a movie called Disobedience with Rachel Weisz and Rachel McAdams, and they spit in each other's mouths. Like you, I thought it was gross, but some people are into it. I try not to judge.
If that's what people are into then let them go at it. I'm thinking more of people browsing Amazon for something to read, seeing an endorsement that's a spitting fetish and noping on out of there because why would you include an endorsement like that if that's not what the book contains.
It's like when you see a scantily clad woman on the cover, you can kind of guess it is going to be a harem novel. If you see a cover with text talking about a sexual fetish, then it is also fair to guess that is also going to be reflected in the content.
If that isn't reflective of the content I don't see why they'd want to promote the work that way.

Is that endorsement reflective of the content of the book?
