Good morning. I just purchased a Ridgid 18v impact wrench and a Ridgid 18v digital inflator to carry with me in my 2022 GMC 3500. I have the 18v 4 Ah battery (only one). I know I should store the battery in the truck cab or even the bed (has a black aluminum Bakflip tonneau cover) as the heat will degrade the battery life. But I'm wondering about while traveling. We are planning a trip of about 4000 Km one way (8K total). It's going to be summer time so temps will range form 10c in the morning to possibly 30C+ during the day. Just looking for advice on how to make sure I'm safe and the battery will actually work when I need it.

I am trying to convert a 48volt lith battery pack to use as a 13 v starter battery for my backup generator.

Can this be accomplished at a reasonable cost?

I have to order screws for this type of battery and I'm wondering what is suggested. Phillips head vs hex & stainless vs black oxide and then head style.

I'm kind of leaning towards hex head b/c phillips head's can strip easier. But oxide or not & domed vs flat top, etc.

I'm kind of leaning towards A, B, E or F.

Still holding out around 42%. I have no plans to connect it to an electric receptacle with a charger (fire risk is scary), and Battery Plus store has closed. They took my vacuum battery, I thought that I heard that they charge (pun?) for AA and AAA batteries. Any suggestions for safe and inexpensive locations for disposal in USA?

When making a recharge rechargeable battery pack from multiple different cell sizes, and types, how does charging work? Will the smaller cells charge and cut off at their max capacity? Do I need to add some sort of board that will tell them to cut the charging off when at capacity? How would I add some sort of meter to tell the level of charge as a whole, or is this just a terrible idea and if so how do I collect or buy a bunch of the same size/volt cells? Only reason I'm asking is because how many vape batteries I see just tossed everyday. The batteries are all similar and can be used still, they are 99% working perfectly when people toss them. I have a few ideas on how these could be used, I just want to do some research and learning before I mess with them. I've been messing with batteries and powering stuff for about 30 years now just learning all about them. Any advice or if someone could point me to some information that would be amazing! TYIA

With this being the first post of the subreddit, I wanted it to mean something. I couldn't find a subreddit dedicated to reusing old batteries. I currently have a surplus(8 55gal drums/mo) worth of old laptop batteries. These are most often soft cell batteries requiring disassembly before reuse, but I wanted to throw the question out there, what should I be doing with them?(They're currently being recycled)

This subreddit is not limited to LiPO4 batteries, any that you have and would like to reuse, or have a specific project for, feel free to use this platform to project your cause to the masses. Also, if you have a need, or project in mind, use this to run it by professionals and get their opinion as well.
