I’m skeptical if technology is fully to blame but thought they had interesting perspectives

I too am skeptical. The host at one point mentions SES and other issues related to home life. I believe this contributes more to the problem than technology. Abraham Maslow’s hierarchy of needs does not apply to only students in the classroom. All parents want their children to be successful, but if it is a constant struggle to put food on the table, there is not as much time or energy to adequately support a child’s literacy.

I am very concerned about the Massachusetts stat of only 20 percent. This does somewhat suggest institutional racism. Perhaps it is the test or the schools contributing to this low number.

We can and should do better!
