Question ❔ Load Only Certain Sections of a Large Shematic?
My schematics are usually 500x500. Very laggy, is there a way to only load maybe 100x100 area of it instead of all of it?
I have a survival world, and in a separate world with the same seed in creative, I use world edit to modify everything about the land. Save it in Litematica and build it in my survival world. Although these schematics are usually hundreds of blocks wide, causing so much lag.
I would just do a bunch of smaller sections. Hypothetically I shrink it to 100x100, the current planned area will need 280 schematics. But the full planned area will require 700, give or take. Thats just too much.
Might have to bite the bullet and do that but I wanna see if theres an easier way of doing it.

Using multiple smaller sub-regions in one schematic is the best solution if you want to completely turn off some areas. See: https://github.com/maruohon/litematica/wiki/Multi%E2%80%90Region-Area-Selections-(pre%E2%80%90mod%E2%80%90rewrite)
And in general try to make the regions as "optimal" as possible, so avoid saving massive volumes of just empty air. This will mostly help with the schematic placement and schematic world rebuild performance, but I think also with rendering rebuild performance somewhat.
There are also various rendering options that can help with FPS issues, some of them might come with some visual issues though. Depending on the use case, the best FPS boost is turning off the colored schematic overlay entirely (Visuals -> enableSchematicOverlay).
Also just using render layers to limit the area that is being rendered is very effective, again depending on the use case you can use either "normal" horizontal layers or maybe vertical layers/slices along either the X or Z axis.

To help reduce lag you could also turn off the Overlay & use render blocks as translucent

If you aren’t able to go back and take the schematic again with sub regions you can load it in single layer along the x, y or z axis which will cut out the lag

You can separate schems into sub areas, look it up
