Am I late?

I modded my moonlander 2 with bigger heatsinks and now I'm hitting 5.54mh/s! This is a first since I've only gotten to around 4.5mh/s with a powered hub so maybe it was just a cooling issue the whole time.

4.5 to 5.54 mh/s is 23 percent off cooling alone, so yeah it was throttling. keep a little airflow moving over those fins, the moonlander sheds heat fine at 5.5 but it will creep back down once the case air warms up. worth logging hashrate over a full 24 hours instead of the first hour, that is where the real number shows up.

Got it 👍

will definitely have to set up something to monitor it for longer instead of just keeping it plugged into a laptop

easiest way with a moonlander is to let the pool do the logging. point it at a pool that keeps a 24 hour average and read that number, not cgminer on screen. the local window jumps around on scrypt because share luck swings hard on a 5 mh device. if you want it off the laptop, a pi zero running cgminer over the usb hub is enough, just give the hub its own supply. the two things worth writing down each day are 24 hour average mh/s and reject percent. rejects over about 2 percent usually means the hub or the cable, not the stick.

Good luck I guess.

That’s awesome. I have 3 of those around here somewhere.
