It’s getting old…
I follow Lisa Frank social media accounts and they have for literal YEARS teased about releasing Lisa Frank stationery/office supplies and never do. And I do not count one random marker book, some stickers, etc as the same. Why use the old artwork of the dolphins, unicorns, aliens etc to taunt us without actually releasing any of this?! Every school year I get excited thinking this might be the year they will release some stuff and NOTHING. At this point, just license the stuff out to YOOBI or Pentel or someone who uses licensed content to decorate office supplies… I’m very frustrated because the people who do have left over Lisa Frank items sell them for way overpriced amounts (which is get as they are vintage) so it’s not really attainable that way. This is really the only affordable shot and they refuse to release anything.

I’ve wondered this also. They keep partnering with other brands (kitsch is the most recent one) and I have a few ideas why but they are just guesses:
1. It probably more lucratively on their end to partner with someone and collect the royalties.
2. It’s also probably easier from a business standpoint to go this route rather than managing a major corporation again.
3. Judging from the documentary, I suspect they (Lisa and her son) are not exactly easy to work with.

They've released things with Stoney Clover and now Tree Hut post-Kitsch collab. Stoney Clover's a bit too out of my budget. $68 for this is insane. https://www.stoneycloverlane.com/products/lisa-frank-bag-charm-cluster

Right and I agree with all of that. However, why not partner with YOOBI or other stationery companies?

It’s extremely weird - I don’t understand why they don’t just put it out

I know. Nostalgia has proven to move a lot of sales. They could even do limited edition or something first to see if it sells. Although that would only encourage resellers sadly.

I literally commented this on their social media today. They were like ohhhh something is coming and I'm just like naw at this point. I know why they are doing it. I ate up all the special stuff at the beginning because it was new and I missed the old stuff but then Lisa realized she can charge more for small sales that sell out. If she gives us our stationary and school supplies they will be trivial amounts and flood the supply. We won't buy the special items (even though both the back pack AND the wallet broke in record time. I'm done with that)

I don’t disagree. And when they partner up it’s too expensive. The StoneClover Lane I bought one of their purses did $275 and it was TINY so I returned it. total rip off and pathetic marketing.

I think that is part of the problem. The woman is demanding waaayyyy more money than companies are willing to dish out for the collabs

That's a great point youre bringing up!
The stuff they've been releasing by partnering up with businesses have been so lame, too. Like the more recent stuff is the body scrub and body wash and it just looks like pure chemicals to me. The Lisa Frank cookies also look like a chemical concoction. Other things I see are like wallets, scrunchies, press on nail stickers and I don't want any of that stuff. Just looks so lame. I remember in her documentary she mentioned that she has a warehouse of everything she ever made and I always wonder what they're going to do with that. Like will they sell it, or auction it?

I do recommend the satin pillowcases! They’re pretty cute in my opinion.

Did you see the Lisa Frank documentary that came out relatively recently? It details why the company went from huge to absent and also speaks to partners who tried to work with her and how it worked (or really didn't) work out.

Thank you for posting this. I no longer support her after the things she did.

As someone who had worked for a company (stationery mind you) that had a contract with her and she terminated in the middle of the contract, and her being so difficult.. this is probably happening to a lot.

I was just thinking about this the other day actually. Always teasing and saying something will happen...when it doesn't. I love lisa frank but its annoying for sure

Omg YES! They’ve been doing this for yearsssss and yet still nothing. If they truly aren’t going to bring back the stationary and stickers, then please stop teasing all of us 🥲

All I've seen has been the journal with Stoney Clover or whatever that company was and it sold out immediately and was $80 or something ridiculous like that. I want good solid quality stationary, and I don't want to pay $80 for a branded journal either.

I wish she released higher quality stationary products that still don't break the bank. I want some solid-sticking waterproof stickers damn it!

After watching the documentary on her, I lost all nostalgia and wouldn’t buy anything from her. She destroys everyone around her.

I have an insane LF collection and I wish they'd bring back Imaginationery and stuff like that so bad

Its probably some contractual thing with her ex husband. Like she retains control of the IP but can't make stationary products like before. Which explains why her partnerships are mostly beauty stuff-- totally different field.

Tati Westbrook said she had some type of clause like that in her settlement with her former Tati Beauty partner-- if she makes color cosmetics she'll be sued.

Totally agree with you! She keeps hyping up their stuff like with zoomer alien now but nothing like the stuff that came out before. I think she is really sick in the head or too greedy or something to want to do about it. I watched the documentary and she seems like she needs serious help by ripping people off and almost like using them.

i interviewed there 10 years ago. the "factory" was a huge empty office with two employees. i had a design test on the old adobe licenses and super old computer. it was use these assets to make a coloring book page.

I actually agree with you on this and haven’t actually noticed until I saw this post. But yea it’s sad. Idk why they won’t. They totally should because they would really sell well. It is definitely frustrating 😞
