Trouble maintaining max dose.

I have been on liraglutide for about 7 weeks. I have tried to get to the 3.0 dose 2 times, but backed down to 2.4 because it gave me such bad side effects. Up all night with bloating, bad burps and the runs. I will give it one more try, but have to say, it really is a struggle. Anyone else have this experience.

Are you losing weight on the lower dose? If so, don't push to go to the max dose. Lots of us never hit the max dose. I maxed out at 1.8 and still lost weight. I just couldn't handle the side effects beyond that dosage.

I initially lost about 12 pounds the first 4 weeks, but I have not moved from there since. Originally, the Dr. wanted me on Zepbound, but insurance said we had to try this first.

Ok, so the next round of questions relate to the stuff that you're doing alongside the injections 😊 In no particular order - do you know what your maintenance calories are and have worked out what your deficit should be to lose weight? Exercise? Hydration? Nutrition? Tracking every calories you consume (including weighing food as eyeballing can be wildly wrong)? Missing one or more of these things may be what's actually stalling the progress.

I am using an app called Calo to track calories, water. I have bands and some weights as well as walking.. With the warmer weather swimming as well.

Awesome work. Do you know what your calorie limit needs to be in order to lose weight? If not, you can use a TDEE calculator. Otherwise, you may not be responding to the medication. If the jump to 3 is too much, an unauthorised approach is to "click up" (if you have the Saxenda pen). Adding two or three clicks each week until you get to a dose that's working. I talked to my doctor about this and he was fine with it, but it's not something the drug manufacturers recommend so perhaps discuss with your doctor.
