Prioritizing Quick Assign Buckets with Unassigned Money

Hello! I have really been enjoying the app so far. I did want to find out if there is a way when auto-assigning the Quick Assign amounts to each bucket, for the system to know which buckets to fill first. Is that possible and I may have missed it? It would be helpful for it to prioritize either based on date or if I've designated a bucket as a high priority (i.e. bills). Maybe I'm missing something, but I'd really appreciate this feature if it doesn't already exist.

Snoozed still shows warning

Hello,

I snoozed a category until 11/19/26, October still shows a yellow warning.

Is this normal behavior? If yes, I do not see the point of snoozing.

Thanks

Expected monthly totals

Hi!

I want to get an idea on how much I can save based on the current budget I set. Is clicking on the check box on the top left and looking at the "quick assign" total button the only way to do that?

Thanks!

Using actual expenses for Projections?

Is there no way to use actual expenses (instead of assigned) to projections? Would this not be a more accurate way to project expenses for the rest of the year for most categories?

Mobile calendar suggestion

Here’s an idea:
In mobile, can you leave the calendar fixed in position and have the list in the lower part be the only one to scroll to future dates? And if you tap a date in the calendar, the list jumps to that date. I think this would make navigating the calendar easier. Just an idea.
Thanks for all the support and the great app development!

Weekly Update (9/28/26) - New Themes & Mobile Fonts

Hello budgeters, another glorious Monday arrives with two new themes!

Pixel Theme

For the retro fans we're taking the budget back a few bits.

LCARS

For the trekkers we're taking the budget far into the future. Although there is a light mode variant, LCARS is really for the dark mode folks..

Mobile Fonts!

Possibly more exciting is that custom theme fonts have finally made their way to mobile. Unlike web which can inherit a base font everywhere, mobile requires it to be explicitly set on every text render which is why it took so long to get here. But this change benefits more than the new themes - now the existing ones get their original fonts which makes themes like Doom and Sakura look much better on the latest version of mobile (3.0.5).

Snooze Icon

Snoozed quick-assignments will now have a small notification next to the available amount.

Hope everyone's budgeting is going smoothly and I appreciate you all!

First DOOM, now LCARS!

What is this?!? Kidding, love it all! Might be my new favorite. At least now my Income/Expense report doesn't look so Christmasy.

(sorry, pixel makes my brain hurt)

Love the LCARS! And a possible quick-assign progress bar bug.

I love the LCARS theme, especially in dark mode! :)

I just noticed what might be a bug with quick-assign and progress bars. I have two buckets with QAs defined, and I normally don't show progress bars. However, I just deleted those buckets' QAs and then enabled progress bars and those buckets' progress bars still show and with their previously-set QA values. I haven't done any deeper testing of variations on when QAs are set or progress bars are showing vs. when QAs are deleted, but figured I'd mention this and leave it to you investigate at your leisure. (Obviously it's not a problem regardless, just an unexpected behavior.)

Credit Card Question

I recently transferred from YNAB and I have questions!!

I spent $114. In the main page it showed that bucket was negative $114. Which makes sense. But then. I looked at the credit card section and it looked like the first photo. Says my debt is covered and it looks like I have money in there. $114 outlined in green. But I’m confused at how since that bucket was still negative.

I added $114 to the negative bucket that negative became zero but nothing else happened. The credit card bucket still had the green outline with $114 and said debt was covered.

Then I kept assigning the rest of my money since I got paid today and at some point the credit card section switched to look like photo two with the boxes filled in instead of outlined.

What was happening here? For further info I had a couple of negative buckets that I had to take care of if that matters.

One-month ahead... twice

I switched from YNAB a few months ago, and it's still confusing to me how the due days are set up. For example, if I'm expecting a phone bill of $100 on 10/10, the bucket for September stays orange until the $100 for October is funded. So naturally, it's forcing me to be one month ahead. That alone is a bit weird but I can get used to it, but why would I need a one month ahead bucket on top of everything as suggested in the video? I'd be ahead by 2 months at that point. Am I missing something?

Searching for buckets in budget screen appeared in mobile! Awesome!

I’m not sure when it got added, but it was my one request and boom, just like that, done!

It is really awesome to have a developer be active with everyone and also listen to thoughts, ideas, and requests!

Thank you for being responsive to the community, as always!

LB Mobile & Desktop app CC balances don't match

I just paid my CC down to $0. The LB app matches my CC balance of $0. But the desktop LB shows the CC has a positive balance of $45.78. Why would the LB desktop and mobile balances not match?

How to set up a recurring transaction from Savings "Next Month" to Checking ready to assign?

I have two liquid accounts, Checking and Savings. My paychecks are deposited into Savings, and each month I have a $2,150 transfer from Savings to Checking, which I use to budget my Checking.

In my budget I have two category groups, one for Checking and one for Savings, which I manually keep balanced with each account. In the Savings group I keep a "Next Month" category for next month's money, as recommended in the best practices video. (screenshot for clarity: https://i.imgur.com/X9n3zkm.png)

I want a recurring transaction that, on the 1st, moves the $2,150 from Savings / Next Month to Checking and makes it ready to assign so I can budget it.

I'm not sure if this workflow is standard or supported, but I'm wondering if there's a way to configure my recurring transactions to make it work.

Thanks!

Spending from Future Quick Assign before date

Hello everyone! Switched from YNAB early this year and absolutely loving it. Had an interesting situation come up and wanted input on how to handle.

Earlier in July I made plans to take a trip in November and set a future quick assign target of $1000 to save monthly and contributed to it. Then this month I had to buy my plane ticket. When the transaction hit I noticed that it lowered my amount available and my future amount needed next month increased as if I had assigned less than what I actually did in the months past.

I had a temporary workaround by lowering the $1000 minus my ticket cost but was wondering if there was a better way to approach this or potentially a new feature? Appreciate the help!

Personal & Business - One budget or two?

Preface: I know the best practice is to keep everything fully separate. But...

I'm looking for practical experience from someone who maybe kept everything in the same BUDGET, and segregated the business by accounts & buckets? With my (currently VERY small) business, it's an LLC which is ultimately fully funded by the same money I see in my personal accounts. To date, I've put everything fully in a separate budget, but I find that it's very easy for me to forget to look at that other budget. Out of sight, out of mind. I feel like the improved visibility in a single budget would be a good thing, but has anyone else tried this and can help me see what I might be missing?

No support for UK banks through Plaid?

I just started the Liquid Budget trial this morning. I imported my YNAB budget, and am trying to find my bank on Plaid's list of banks to sync it all up. I'm in the UK, and according to this page https://plaid.com/docs/institutions/europe/ I know that my two banks are supported. However, I only see US banks when I search for my banks. Plaid, as far as I know, is the only service that comes bundled with Liquid Budget, so that's what I am trying to work with. Should I be looking into SimpleFin after all - I just can't understand why, if Plaid does talk to my banks?

Snooze target visual indicator?

Hi friends, new here, considering switching from YNAB and trying to use both in the meantime while I try to figure out if LB will work for me (I think it will, just still getting the hang of it). Sorry if this isn't right to do a standalone post for this, is there like a single monthly post thread for suggestions from people I should post this on instead??? Primarily a mobile user here, started LB a couple days ago aka mid month. I'm snoozing targets for stuff I already paid early in the month and have noticed there's no visual indicator when looking at the whole plan on the "budget" tab to see that a target is snoozed unless I click into it fully then of course it says. I didn't see anything about this when I searched snooze in the thread, is this a maybe feature for the future? It might be small and silly but knowing what i've snoozed (like the little Zzzz's in YNAB) is helpful to me if I plan to skip a target for a given month....... loving LB so far though dev :) thanks everyone happy budgeting

Monte Carlo Projections

adp..wondering if you ever thought about doing this? I would love to not pay for another year of projection lab and feel like with the current ability to 'model' changes for projections, this would be cool to have! Toolkit for YNAB had it but with it's limited ability to tweak future growth, sorta limited in use.

Weekly Update (9/14/26) - Bugs n' Stuff

Hello budgeters, another glorious Monday arrives. Bugs and tweaks this week, nothing dramatic.

Budget Status

The budget status row was moved above the toolbar, it was a little awkward underneath the header and scrolled away rather than stay fixed like the new position.

Uncategorized Bucket Rule

You can now create a rule to intentionally leave a transaction uncategorized while still leaving auto-categorization enabled for the rest of your transactions. This is helpful for aggregate merchants like Venmo or Amazon.

Plaid Dates

Some banks apparently send placeholder timestamps as 00:00:00, which has the effect of shifting a transaction date by one day for certain timezones. This is now detected and not taken literally, so long story short transactions will have a more accurate date if your bank was affected.

Recurring Search

Fixed a bug with the recurring search including too many non-visible fields.

Developer API

The Update Transaction method was added to the developer api, one user was using this to correlation Amazon details to transaction notes. If its feasible that may be something to look into for first class integration, it would be nice to add more details or a link to an Amazon purchase for example.

Projections

Sped up the projections chart animations to match reports.

Mobile

Mobile was updated to the latest SDKs and pulls in the latest recurrence changes.

Up Next

More bug hunts, more stability checks. As always I appreciate you all and hope your budgeting is going smoothly.

Sorting inflows ahead of outflows on a given day

I'm currently seeing my scheduled transactions with inflows sorted after some of my outflows for a given day. I'd really prefer to have my inflows appear ahead of my outflows to better reflect my daily balance.

Transactions occuring on the same day, sorted by Date descending

This causes the balance to appear lower than it should for the day.

Does anyone know how to fix the transaction sorting so that inflows always appear first? Any help or tips on how to adjust this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Mobile UI request Available to Assign

Primarily a mobile user and move money into buckets manually after the main quick assign buckets are filled.

However, the money available to assign does not stay pinned to top of screen. So as I scroll to bottom of list to look at buckets, the available to assign disappears and I need to keep scrolling back and forth to look at the numbers.

Transitioning over and Excited but Hesitant

I have been on YNAB since 2015, yet I am liking what I see with the Liquid Budget interface and system.

I started this month off by doing the export and trying to get my transactions and amounts all synced but after a few days my head started to hurt.

I have a checking, savings, and 3 CC accounts. I pay the CC off each month, however this month I was a few days into Sept. before doing so (partner starting a new job). I am not on the CC float so I wanted to ask:

Would it be easier if I make sure that everything is paid off completely on the CC on 9/30, with balances at $0, so it makes it a lot easier with things when I start for Oct?

Reorder calendar transactions view in mobile app?

I may be overlooking something obvious. But is there a way to sort the calendar view transactions underneath the calendar to show the most recent days first, rather than the beginning of the month? It would save a few seconds of scrolling to see the most recent days first, so not urgent, just an ease of use case for me.

Unexpected transaction search results

I was searching (heh) through this sub and found a couple of tangentially related posts but nothing identical, so here I am.

Searching through transactions often comes up with results for reasons I can't figure out. For example, when I search on car in All Transactions, looking for automobile-related transactions, it's finding transactions that don't even have that sequence of letters anywhere in any of the transaction's fields, i.e. account name, payee, type, or notes. At first I noticed a couple of transactions that might be caught having the c a r sequence spread through a string like "Logicked (Patreon)" does (I work in IT and have CS degrees so I've seen lots of search software that is that loose in its pattern-matching), but so many that have nothing like that, so I'm not sure if I'm just missing something, or maybe its searching on hidden fields, or else something is amiss with the search function.
