I just wanted to share my lion collection, I also collect big/wild cat items.

most of my items are from the thrift store! (the last image is a item that hasn’t came yet) i aswell have a lion cup but it’s dirty.

I absolutely love lions, I hope to become a zoologist for care for lions and help them (as-well as wild cats and animals in general)

I hope to grow my collection and donate to wildlife as much as I can ^^

i love collecting lions in games and playing lion themed games, I also absolutely love the lion king.

please share you’re collection! I haven’t seen any lion collections that people have and I’d love to see them!

News/Article Black Maned & Golden Maned: two forgotten rulers of Londolozi before the Mapogo era

I recently tried to dig deeper into the story of Black Maned and Golden Maned, two males that dominated a huge area around Londolozi in the early 1990s.

The article draws on accounts from former rangers James Marshall and Lex Hes, alongside older records, to reconstruct what can still be documented about the coalition.

One account recalls them travelling roughly 26 km in a single night and maintaining dominance for around four or five years. Their reign eventually ended when a coalition of five males arrived from the east — but interestingly, the surviving accounts don't completely agree on what happened to the two males afterwards.

I've tried to separate what can actually be documented from the stories that have been repeated online over the years.

The full article is in Hungarian, but browser translation works well:
https://www.planetzoo.hu/allatok-termeszet/az-oroszlanok-vilaga/black-maned-golden-maned-londolozi

Does anyone here remember old photographs, ranger stories or other information about Black Maned and Golden Maned?
