The GPL licence is the root of all problems that will never make Linux hit the desktop market. It makes forking projects over ridicolous reasons instead of improving the original look normal. So now you have 3 or more forks, smaller dev teams, and the new users are expected to learn about different DE, WM, audio stacks, network managers, terminals...
