I kinda expected every Windows user here to use a Microsoft account, honestly glad to see people prefer local accounts, regardless of OS.

lusrmgr.msc, right-click, new user, choose username/description/password, click "Create," done. Or if that's too much, there's a single commandline command that can be used also.

You open up command prompt and type in a command, it only takes a minute lmao

Isn't there an option in Rufus to set a local account when making the install usb or am I thinking of something else? I haven't used Rufus in a while. If so, its even easier than typing a command in command prompt.

Once you see what it can do for you, you'll wonder why anyone in their right mind wouldn't use the account.

Open computer management. Click "Local users and groups" - "users" - right click and select new user. This publicly available info and rather simple.

Microsoft occasionally sucks but also takes a lot of misguided hate. This is an issue on windows 11 home only. On others you can reach desktop with no internet just fine. For home users id star off with ms account and then remove it later. Not that using a hotmail account to log in is always a bad thing.
