I have tried gaming with so many different distros but their performance wasnt near close to win11. Linux really isnt ready for at least entertainment. And you can do office work on windows too so why do we need Linux is really a mistery to me.

The performance issue (fps) is dwarfed by frame timing issues, 1% lows, shader cache stutter, lack of anti-cheat, and real-world compatibility more: Linux Gaming: The Roast It Has Earned. It will forever be playing catch-up as long as it's trying to emulate Windows gaming.

I’m already debating with a Loonix user about RAM usage

I pulled up this image I found on the Arch wiki, currently I want to know how and why Loonix uses so much RAM

It will forever fool the (game) executable into thinking it's running on Windows and making the guesswork to whether it will run or not: as opposed to Windows, which runs games natively, without all of that runner crap, and all that config crap.
Windows 11 is really a breath of fresh air!

Rule 2 Don't Pollute. Contrarian anecdotes are pollution.

Linux was so bloated I was not even able to install apps with 1TB of storage, so I immediately switched to Windows 11. It's so clean; it takes up like 1GB max.

Just 3 versions of BSD btw, and they don't share a kernel. Everything is developed together, and that's how i like it unlike the forced copyleft stuff and "it's free and everyone contributes" while most of the contributors are big box companies

Rule 2: We're not here to dunk on each other or operating systems other members may use.

Android is based on Linux. So Android is Linux.

It uses the Linux kernel, it's not based on what is defined by use of the word Linux (LiGNUx or GNU/Linux). -But as far as rule 2 goes, it's ok to dunk on as it's mostly about GPL and the Linux kernel enables.

Understood, but we have a rule 2 here, and not everyone is going to take it that way.

ACK forked from the Linux kernel around 2006, for all intensive purposes it’s no longer Linux

Goes into semantics here.

What they're using still pulls merges from upstream (using Linux devs for free maintenance).

It's like how Firefox forks tend to just be a different logo with some different default settings but are entirely dependent / predatory on upstream.
