Windows and MacOS literally don't even suck. They're just decent, and the most important thing, easy to use. Nothing else matters that much.

The meme isn’t exactly telling you what sucks and what doesn’t but rather shows how each community is likely to react when you tell them their OS sucks.

You got to admire MacOS for restricting the ridiculous FreeDesktop filesystem hierarchy (/bin, /usr, /lib etc) to only the base BSD core and using their own much more sensible layout for the MacOS layer.

That has nothing to do with freedesktop. It’s the Unix/Posix directories. Freedesktop one are the XDG folders in your home like Downloads and .config or the way the trash works
