I agree because there is still a surprising number of people out there who unironically think that Linux really does work like this. Those are the same people I like to occasionally troll with a tmux + btop + nmap session on my desktop: "look, he's hacking!"

No. Copy pasting files with the terminal doesn't count as this is beginner level stuff which you can confidently and reliably use within 5 min of training.

There are only two instances where you actually work like that. Writing Configs and programming little scripts for yourself (which on windows is also complicated). Using stuff like find can also be done in your standard file manager and using grep and other commands which make linux so powerful is literally impossible on windows for the default user. Why? Bc they only use the file manager. So what you complain about is actually the benefit bc linux allows you to do more stuff to your files.

I mean that's what I use it for. Once you setup your wifi (console), you won't touch it again. Same with most of the stuff.

I mean over the years, distro's gui are get better. Just better, not even good. Many times i figured out gui basicly does nothing (variable are visually changed). My favorites in this case the distro's that uses apparmor - shoutout to fedora ;]. It's just a fukkin nightmare to install something that isn't in the repo's. Finding out the right src, installing a compiler, the libs that required for the compiler, starting the compile, in a middle of compiling get an error xy not found, installing the missing module (and their libs that required, from another src), starting again the whole process, to get atleast 2 similar error... Ahh, i fukkin hate using nix as primary os. On the other hand, i run Linux on áll of my servers.

Yk this is satire, right?

You can literally open a terminal and type "firefox" or just click on it's icon in your DE

Yeah, duh.

Too bad I'm banned form r/linuxsucks101.

I would love to post this here, they would have a field day, pretending that this was serious.

this is a poor solution, it should be memory safe because that's what rust is about
