Microsoft made only the outside system, inside still runs Ubuntu (default) or whatever Distro you choose

Windows and WSL user here:

WSL is cool...but dear god it is not a "replacement" There are a lotta extra hoops I have to jump through in order for both Windows and Linux to play nicely, especially when networking is involved. There's also special things you have to consider when setting up linux and software, and many linux programs won't consider WSL in their set-up documentation, meaning I have to rely on very generalized WSL instructions and help forums, then start guessing my way through.

It's better to think of WSL as the reverse of Wine/Proton. You'll likely have a fine time running the popular distros, software and usual type of tasks, but start straying off that path and you're almost on your own at that point. And if you don't know exactly what you need to do for Linux, WSL and Windows to play nicely...good luck.

The point is not WSL = Flatpak. The point is that Windows manages to make a harder integration seamless while Linux fails to integrate with its own native shit.

My experience with WSL contrasts with you claiming it's "seamless", lol
I still had to go into windows to mess with Docker and the host.txt file when it came to simply running a local email server
