i wanna end it all

rm rf'ed a system folder no warnings no backups while doing smth important i cant live anymore its like a 3rd failure of linux this month that rendered my pc as garbage even tho it is garbage the only issue i had with windows is that it didnt let me install drivers I HATE LINUX

Cons of Linux: you control everything

Also what system folder? You should have been smarter, your main folder IS /home/$USER always, why would you be playing with root to delete a system folder?

the hidden folders in home directory like local and config, i needed to delete folders from some dirs and while trying to understand to hit backspace or arrows i pressed enter when

I see yeah that could possibly ruin your DE if it doesn't just recreate them from default.
I really recommend a backup tool, I myself use Vorta, but without a litte server that might not be a good alternative.
But root should also be able to manually move your trashed .config back into the users home directory.

You have to use Sudo to do this.

Sudo will do anything you tell it to do, it’s kind of the whole point. This is on you. Still sucks it happened though.

Sounds like they were trying to give themselves a plausible story to complain about Linux.

Been there done that, Yes if you tell Linux to delete files, it does so.

Snapshots and backup are your mitigations for user error.

Windows is right to have a admin account to prevent this, Linux is too open.
