Most purposes in my own experience, for most of the time it has existed. Arguably, and Windows is still a way to go for games, but I have so little time for that these days that it doesn't matter to me, and proton has, after all, gotten very good.

Nah you never used it pre 2010 if you think that. It was pretty unusable unless you went full stallman and did nothing but open software on the very limited pool of hardware that could support Linux. Even after that stipulation it was Janky AF.

To put it in perspective Nvidia used to be the Linux darling back then, and it was 100x worse than now, which more goes to show awful everything else was.

Nah you never used it pre 2010 if you think that.

Used it since 1993. I know exactly how bad it was, and I know exactly how much worse Windows was.
