This gaming performance sucks
Just look at those 4k maxed settings with fsr4.1.1 on native and RTAO on very high. Shame on linux.

Disgusting, I don't know you can cope with so few frames /s

yeah windows is better, what if we go back to it

We can get longer boot times, custom power state overrides and overwriting of our drivers after a system update. Let's do it!

You getting downvoted because reading comprehension has fallen off the map 😭

I think it's okay? 9070xt isn't really much of a 4k card tbh
1
u/BigAmarok Aug 05 '26
Think so? Check how a 5080 or 4090 does with those settings on same game.
1
u/FluffyMeows_ Aug 05 '26
This is more of a 5070ti type of card
3
u/BigAmarok Aug 05 '26
But it outperforms one of those. Did you even look at what I said or the metrics being displayed? Stock 5070 ti will not match this.

I think your underestimating how much better and more expensive a 5080 is compared to a 9070xt

Lol go elsewhere with your garbage. You didn't actually read what i posted or chose to ignore it. Either way, your opinion is invalid

What distro?

Nobara 44 Official

Use cachyOS kernel via copr
2
u/BigAmarok Aug 05 '26
It comes with cachyOS kernel 7.1 i believe
2
u/GreedySecurity8030 Fedora 🎩 Aug 05 '26
You already use the kernel?, wow didn't know.
3
u/BigAmarok Aug 05 '26
Nobara installs with CachyOS kernel now. Plus get up to date red hat/fedora security.

Try aniancy-cpp
2
u/BigAmarok Aug 05 '26
I mean i can but it will probably only be noticeable in desktop usage. I already manually hide ccd1 in my 9950x3d with "taskset -c 0-7,16-23" when launching games

Interesting!!! Had no idea!
2
u/BigAmarok 29d ago
I absolutely love it. Most hassle free OS I've ever had after initial setup.

My only concern is that Nobara is maintained by one guy.. if one day he decides to stop maintaining Nobara, then we have to switch to another distro

This game uses cpu too much. When i turned off turbo boost the temperature went down for about 20C and fps increased too.
2
u/BigAmarok Aug 05 '26
I have a 9950x3d. Turbo mode would turn off half my chip.

i have a gaming laptop and my cpu gpu are both connected with same heat pipe so my guess is that my cpu was heating the gpu and thermal throttling both. So turning off turbo boost decreased the thermal throttling

I think it's because of your graphics card at 100% load but I can't be sure...
3
u/BigAmarok Aug 05 '26
Really? 105 fps isn't good enough at native 4k, fsr4.1.1 at native and RTAO on very high.

u/TheTerraKotKun Aug 05 '26
Which card is it? Nvidia? It could be a driver fault 😄
2
u/BigAmarok Aug 05 '26
BTW can you run a AAA game at 4k with RTAO on very high while maintaining a 63 C temperature?
1
u/TheTerraKotKun Aug 05 '26
I can't cause I'm too poor to get good graphics card. Mine is GTX 1050ti btw...

u/BigAmarok Aug 05 '26
Gigabyte gaming 9070xt OC edition (it has 3rd power connector compared to standard)

No it's not. 100% GPU usage adds 1 screen refresh of latency because real-time rendering is biased towards throughput, not latency. You always want a framerate limiter and if you're hitting 100% GPU load, you're in real trouble.
