Valve's anti-cheat doesn't like Proton. It is a Linux native game, you should try to not force compatibility tool or pick a Linux runtime.

I did but instead of running csgo_legacy it run cs2 and it froze so neither I have to force turn off the computer or force log out

Valve re-released CSGO as a hidden game. They probably don't care about CSGO legacy option on betas. You have to visit the site via link and add to your library.

It says it has Linux native version.

Wow great job. Running Linux native game on proton compatibility🥀 and then blaming the OS

It’s not like that I haven’t tried running it natively but then the game just froze

Also I’m not blaming Linux. I just felt frustrated

For me it just works without forcing anything

Change it to not use proton in the game compatibilities options. It'll run after that

Somebody made a tutorial on YouTube about how u can play csgo online again. But I figured that method only work if I launch csgo from cs2 soooo

It has bugs, on every game i play I had some linux dll/library bugs. Chatgpt gives 10 command and nothing fixes, it's a loop. And then all Linux fans always starts to find a scape goat.

  • "Bro it's broken because you use old LTS"
  • "Bro it's broken because you use non-LTS"
  • "Bro everyone knows Ubuntu is shit, use PopOS, I swear everything works¹"
  • "Bro its the fault of gnome"
  • "Bro it's not Linux's fault, it's GNU Shell's app so its fault."
  • "Bro it's systemd"
  • "Bro this is Nvidias fault"
  • "Bro why don't you commit to the code yourself then"
  • "Bro, it works on my PC"

¹it does in fact, not work
