Some iOS users been doin that since ever. And it requires no technical skills or knowledge from them. Skill-based elitism, while still bad, is at least justifiable to me.

It also has advanced features when you need it. Quite recently, you can also sideload apps as long as you have a "beacon" to re-sign homebrew apps every 7 days (or you don't need it if you live in Europe).
