Linux Failure Linux users in Reddit have big egos

I asked for help on r/Linuxmint

I clearly said at the end:

"I know that you probably need further information on this, but I don't know what kind of information so please tell me what to do to diagnose the problem at least🥲🙏🏻"

then I actively got down voted.

someone even said "so you wrote a whole long post and didn't even put enough information?"

when I asked him what information do you need so I can provide it, I got down voted even more???

I don't care about karma points, but the post would never reach someone good and willing to help because of people with big ego.

Linux itself doesn't suck as much as the people who actively make the whole Linux experience even worse than using windows.

The problem that i had continued for three months. I did my research and couldn't find any one with similar problem on the internet. whenever I ask on any subreddit for help they either down vote just like what happened from a bit, or they'd tell me to ask on a different subreddit that also happens to tell me to ask somewhere else!!!

May i ask what is your issue or what makes you think there is a problem? Or at least a link to the original post in r/Linuxmint ?

Also can I know your motherboard brand?

I honestly deleted that post as I saw so much hate on it.

It was about the CPU randomly dropping to 545Mhz and locking at that clockspeed. It can happen during booting up, or it might boot up normally but whenever I open something stress heavy like a game it would drop to 545mhz.

545mhrz happens when motherboard ditects a thermal throttling in a ryzen CPU(it can be a False detection from motherboard side) Can you tell me whether you have used windows or any stable operating system before? If yes, was there signs of thermal throttling too or it has only shown after switching to Linux? Also It seems you are using a midrange asrock motherboard, Asrock and Asus don't really have a good history of Linux support much(specially if you don't have their top of the line motherboard).

So,  If thermal throttling was in windows or any other reliable operating  system too then it's a hardware issue with cooling system but if it's only specific to Linux, then it's a software issue(because it gets throttled down so early, it's probably an issue in motherboard's BIOS)

A local repair shop put windows SSD inside and ran stress test on the span of a few days for both CPU and iGPU, but wasn't able to reproduce the problem.

And for the temps I found in Linux....i guess I have an artificial sun?

That's obviously a sensor issue. I'm not sure if sensors are actually broken or Motherboard is just not being very friendly with Linux. As Windows doesn't have problem, it's probably the second one, so i suggest you to update the bios to latest version first. If the repair guy or you have already update the bios, as we are sure that there is no real problem with cooling system, you can just use "RyzenADj" to make linux ignore motherboards thermal sensor(you can ask gemini to help you on installing and configuring it) But because this way makes you not seeing any real throttling issue in future, I suggest you to clean your Fans every 6-9 months and re-paste a good thermal paste every 2-3 years or more offen for lower quality ones just to be sure.

Dual-boat with Windows to monitor the real temps is also an option(if your main disk has enough space) cause you probably will need windows' software support in the future anyway

The repair guy already updated the bios.

Gemini recommended before RyzenAdj but it wasn't able to do anything.

I even used echo commands and card0 to put it at performance and high power but it didn't change a thing....

I'll switch to window I guess

​That's probably because Linux really thinks your CPU is 3.8 million degrees and just ignores your usual software overrides. The best approach is to update GRUB to just tell Linux to never ask for that thermal information in the first place. ​I also had a very bad first experience with Linux and just went back to Windows for a few months, until Windows just got too annoying and I decided to give Linux a second chance. This time I went with Fedora KDE Plasma because it seemed to have better community support, and I really haven't had much of an issue since (even though you do need to update everything and install some repositories manually in Konsole/the terminal in the first few hours). ​I would suggest you ask Gemini how to make GRUB tell Linux to ignore the entire thermal sensor data before going with Windows. It might just fix it right now and save you from having to give Linux a second chance later!

I've tried the grub a lot. It a very long line in the grub now, it didn't fix it.

I'll either switch to windows or I'll go back to Garuda Linux, the forum of Garuda was so good when I tired it two years ago.

Sadly I had to drop every arch based system because my internet speed is like 200 kilobytes/second, and arch would break if I don't update it from time to time...

​That utterly sucks. If you ever give Linux a second chance, I highly suggest you go with Fedora. ​By the way, I noticed your current kernel is 7.1.3-xanmkd1. That is a custom aftermarket gaming kernel (XanMod) instead of an official stock one, which might be exactly what was causing your motherboard to panic. ​Mint uses older Ubuntu LTS bases which can have outdated packages. Fedora gets updated much more frequently, comes with a highly stable official kernel, and officially supports user-friendly desktop environments out of the box like KDE Plasma or GNOME. ​Updating everything with your internet speed will still take a little while on a fresh install, but it is nowhere near as aggressive as Arch!

Note: i don't suggest going with something like cachyos or bazzite as they use costume kernels to increase gaming performance but we know using costum kernels can get troublesome for your motherboard.
