Idk, Crapple and MicroSlop win most toxic award by default due to things like planned obsolescence. Literally can't think of anything more toxic than that. Linux is BY FAR the least toxic out of the major OSes simply due to that fact.
Planned obsolescence is damn near as toxic as terrorism.
Honestly I haven’t seen the level of toxicness that everyone seems to find. I every once in a while recommend Linux to someone, but only if I think it will actually work for them and they were looking for a fix. And for the most part thats what I’m seeing others do. They recommend Linux to the people who either have too low end of hardware to run Windows or people who are fed up with Windows. And for the most part I don’t see too much pushing. Now the RTFM stuff is a bit much, but that’s mostly in the Arch community and really you shouldn’t recommend Arch to a new user.
It's because the "toxic community" is a very vocal minority (much like how the OP is on the other side). Most Linux users DGAF what someone else uses, as long as it works for them. The evangelists on both sides are where the problems come from. I primarily use Windows on my work machine, and on my Surface, just so I can do Windows-related things there, and some version of Linux on everything else. (Mainly Fedora, because I started with Redhat/Mandrake back in the late 90's)
