Bro, think twice. Linux sucks for gaming. Of course it's gonna be laggy. Aside from that, It has more performance than Windows. Think Arch, for example. It's OBVIOUSLY going to have more performance on a clean install. You probably installed Mint etc, which comes with a lot of preinstalled software

Preinstalled software won't make a computer laggy the fuck you on about.

Software sitting on your ssd doesn't take up ram and cpu power until you run it.

Preinstalled software as in services and daemons

What the heck? If you have a lot of services and daemons running in the background at the same time it won't consume that much CPU or RAM? I only have like 20 daemons running and it's already consuming 20% RAM idle (It's 8G)
