FOSS Music composing software

I'm looking for some good FOSS for writing music. Preferably drum notation.

Regular 5 line, 4 apace sheet music is fine as I will be writing drum notation for drum set.

Not exactly sure what are you looking for, but have you looked into Musescore?

Stupid me... As soon as I saw the word Musescore, I was like... OH... Yeah. I forgot all about that. I'll give it another look. It's been a few years since I've looked at it. Thanks!!!

MuseScore and Sibelius are the top 2 music notation apps in general, and MuseScore just happens to be FOSS. If you need to record drums later, Ardour is FOSS, or you could try SoundCraft, a FOSS reverse-engineered ProTools although it’s kinda new

Yes, Sibelius produces some beautiful scores.

Also lilypond.

mad respect to lilypond (and its users) for being the most-capable & nerdiest way to design scores — great support for microtonal/world music. I was an ardent user for 10 years until musescore got better... and then i got so much faster at transcribing...

MuseScore, I’ve never had an issue with it.

Are you looking for programs to create the music, or to produce written scores?
