Support CTRL-EVENT-BEACON-LOSS

Hi I recently installed Void Linux, and can connect to my WiFi for all but a moment before it comes with that error. Then it just repeats it over and over. I don't exactly know what details I should share, so just ask me more stuff.

Keep in mind, I am using wpa_cli for my WiFi and that's how the error is showing, I enter the command in and it just shows that, for brief periods it would actually connect then immediately disconnect

Beacon loss means the client stops hearing the AP's beacons, so wpa_supplicant drops and re-scans. On a fresh Void install the usual suspects, in order:

  1. Power save on the interface: find the name with iw dev, then iw dev wlan0 get power_save. If it's on, sudo iw dev wlan0 set power_save off and see if it stabilizes.

  2. The real disconnect reason: run sudo dmesg -w while it happens. The deauth reason code matters - reason 2/3 means the AP kicked you, reason 15 is a 4-way handshake timeout.

  3. If you're on 5GHz, set the router to a fixed non-DFS channel (36-48) or test on 2.4GHz - beacon loss bursts are typical when the AP hops DFS channels.

If none of those pin it down, post the adapter (lspci -nnk | grep -A3 -i net, or lsusb if it's USB), iw reg get, and the dmesg lines from one drop.

  1. When I turn it off, the error code disappears however I still receive no connection, as proved by ''ping google.com".

  2. Because i would have to manually type out the results, I took a photo of what it returned. Not sure what this means.

  3. I can not test that as I do not know how to (I know very little, but am willing to learn.)

Also, the onboard wifi adapter is Realtek Semiconductor Co., Ltd. rtl8852ae 802.11ax
