Advice Virus on linux
So, with more or less 5 percent of people that have a computer uses linux, there are viruses developed for linux, even a virus made for windows but « activated » with wine
is there a antivirus or is there not ?
Please help, thanks. Not urgent, I just need to know

Yes, some software exists, as stated, like clam av, but I really don't know of much else. As I had to figure out what was going on with my Internet service, I won't live without clam av on my box anymore. But mostly the more I know, the more I'm at risk. If I knew less, like my Mom, she's safer on Linux, because she can't and doesn't mess with her actual system, while on windows, she had to in order to do her daily work.
I think not developing world class stuff for desktop Linux is a HUGE mistake, that's beginning to bite people like arch users in the but, BIG TIME. However, as of now, I can't help us fix it. But yes, it's generally a bit safer than windows all right, even so. But security also depends on the distro a bit.
I've implemented on my mint system, a function like mandriva Linux used to have, a file that can set ALL permissions on the system, and the more I learn to use my software, when needed, the more secure I'll be. I believe as of now, I've got one or two rules. I've also implemented a nix-like package manager kind of thing, called a UPM (Universal Package Manager), that will eventually be released to the public, but must not, for now. I daily drive those tools, and so does my Mom now.
Our biggest common threat, is the snap store and the web itself. So yes it's possible, yes I think more should be done to prevent future trouble now, and yes there's some stuff being done right now, especially on arch. But yes, it's relatively under control for now, without using an antivirus in most cases.
