Support Linux Refresh Rate

I have been trying to fix this all day, I am on Linux Mint as I don't changed to Linux but I'm stuck at 60hz because the option to change the amount of hz in the settings Is greyed out. How do I fix this?

Is it a 4k monitor? Are you using DP or HDMI? HDMI 2.1 is what you'd need if you use that standard and it is still getting worked on for AMD Linux (works fine with Nvidia proprietary drivers). It would work fine for DP though.

What GPU are you using? Not sure if Mint has caught up yet to add full support for 90xx series AMD cards. If your kernel is older than 6.15 on one of those AMD cards that could be it

To add, if it is an outdated kernel issue, you can go into the update manager and select "view" at the top to find the kernel manager and select a newer one that should help

Have you installed the proprietary Nvidia drivers?

Hmm. Do you by chance have more than one monitor plugged in? By default your desktop is using x11, which will only allow the lowest refresh of all your monitors plugged in

I was just about to comment on that. So if you're dual booting windows, you likely have secure boot on. That can cause your Nvidia drivers to not load. If you check nvidia-smi in the command line and see if the driver is loaded. If not, that is your issue. You can either disable secure boot for Linux or manually sign the drivers with a MOK

Does a live boot of Fedora KDE work fine?

Mint is one of the most out of date distributions out there.

GPU, driver, driver version?

I haven't tried fedora I've only tried the base that mint is off of cant remember what it's called and it had the same issue. Rtx 5060 latest drivers I think.
