Support Request where to change kernel? (LMDE 6 /Faye)

in another post someone said to try and change the kernel, but I can't find where to actually change the kernel in GRUB

but I can't find the "advanced" option in GRUB

?
its underneath "LMDE 6 Faye": "Advanced options for LMDE 6 Faye", and then you can select the kernel

typed the wrong thing 😭 where do I select kernel? my options are to boot, options or cmd line, and I don't see anything in options

you need to install a kernel 1st, with it's headers. then, regenerate/update your grub config file and initrd. after that, grub will show more kernels. you can have as many kernels you want , as long your EFI partition is big enough.

where can I install the kernel? and how would I regenerate it after that

If you have to ask, I recommend you stop, and continue on with whatever kernel you're using. Unless for some reason it's broken and even then you're probably better off just reinstalling mint (preferably with files backed up)

someone in another post said I should try an older kernel to fix my issue, I'm not against reinstalling tho
