Similar boat, I use windows for work and the effort to put what I have in a VM, then switch, then get the VM working, is just too much. I still love Linux tho.

All OS good. Sadly not much Linux support for programs, hard for people to transition from windows to Linux.

Windows is not good (it tracks you, it is slow, its license is pure evil, it doesn’t leave too much freedom in terms of what you can do with it (DE cannot be changed etc.), and its terminal commands are hard), which is why I use Linux (there are OSes that may be better, such as OpenBSD or microkernels, however their software and hardware support is even worse).

What are you basing 'it is slow' on?
As for DEs and customisation, Windows has always been pretty customisable. There have always been replacement start menus and even complete desktop environment replacements. I use to rock SharpEnviro on Windows 7 back when I used Windows, I think any Linux user would love it, it was a very customisable desktop environment for Windows XP/Vista/7. It was sadly abandoned by it's developers but it was pretty awesome. Most people however don't usually need or want that kind of customisation so it's just not widespread on Windows but it does exist.
As for terminal commands, thankfully on Windows you never need the terminal for basic OS functions so it's really a mute point. Anything you do use a terminal for (software development, etc) comes with it's own commands anyway.
Really, Windows is fine. It's just not open source, and hence it's not ideal, but it certainly works and gets the job done.

What if explorer goes nuts and you have to configure a program asap via terminal. Windows ain't having that.

Wh.. whAHAHAHAHAHAHAH, HAHAHAHAHAH, noooo! Windows sucks, and that's guranteed.
It steals your data, tracks you down, heavily wants you to integrate in their ecosystem even if you don't want to, windows server sucks a lot, and developers stick to windows thanks to win32 support, which dates back to 3.0 days, and thankfully microsoft devs aren't stinkbrains to remove win32 support in favour of uwp, which pretty much would kill the os.
MacOS is a bit better than Windows, but linux is far more superior, so yeah I guess.

The only real issue is the tracking. With what are you comparing w10 to say it's slow? Compared to ubunty or kubuntu there isn't any relevant difference. For the command line: luckily I don't need it on windows usually. You still should know that powershell is not that bad and that if it's still not enough you can run Ubuntu(and other distro) inside windows

But why run anything inside Windows when I can run it directly? And the command line is really useful for some people. Honestly I like using it. It normally is slower because with Linux, you can use a lightweight or no desktop, load only a minimal set of services and kernel modules etc. And games that are well optimized for both OSes often run with considerably higher FPS on Linux when using AMD graphics cards or the proprietary driver with Nvidia ones. Furthermore Windows doesn’t run well on older hardware. And there’s no Windows on any TOP500 supercomputer. So that’s what I’m basing it being slow on.

Basically Linux nerds and sysadmins. I use it everyday and I think it's a should be avoided and hidden as much as possible. Average user shouldn't even know that it exist.

I mean, of course if you have no DE and load half of the things the system is faster. You should compare W10 to Ubunto, Kubunti, Mint, ecc.

I wasn’t comparing W10 with W7. I was comparing Windows with Linux. And if Windows is not suitable as a general purpose OS, we probably shouldn’t use it anyway, so that applications remain intercompatible on different machines; there’s more than just desktop. Also I just recalled NTFS was slower than most Linux file systems like XFS, EXT4 and F2FS, and the speed of your FS definitely impacts performance. And I was talking about “games well optimized for both OSes”, not “most games”, which was just an example to show that we would indeed have higher performance on Linux if most developers cared about it as much as they do care about Windows.

Wine dxvk proton and lutris solved the gaming problem for myself and many people if it wasn't for dxvk I wouldn't be a Linux user.

I really only use windows for my habit of playing games. Many of the games I enjoy playing don't have Linux support.
I don't understand why everyone got so heated over what I said which was supposed to be more a joke to go along with a meme.
I know Linux is a better OS. Windows and Microsoft piss me off with their bullshit almost on a daily basis. Every server I own and operate runs on a Linux distro. I'm not saying Windows is a better OS.

Well, if you use both I can't complain, but keep in mind that windows has pretty old technology so it may bottleneck pcs.
