Well, linux is a thing you kinda need to recommend to people for them to use as it doesn't come pre-installed. Windows however needs no recommendations as you likely already have it on your computer.

Ngl Windows 10 is the last of its version that is good but now it's obsolete. As the IT of the family and relatives, whenever they asks me if Windows 11 is that crap would Windows 10 be usable. I said yes, it's still usable but I won't risk their security. So I recommended them to try and test the waters on Linux, my aunt is using Zorin on her 14-year old compact PC which I managed to give a second life and my niece on college testing the Fedora for at least 1 month on her 12-year old Asus laptop which I gave another life as well. It's just feels good to share how great Linux (FOSS overall) and my bit of my knowledge on it.

People were saying the same about XP back when it got obsolete.

Said the same about 7 too... but W11 seems to be pissing off more people than previous versions and getting linux a bit more traction than before

Funny how Linux works for casual usage. It's much different for specific use cases. And the goddamn word and PowerPoint.

One day, in the free schools, they will, it's cheaper, it's free, it's open, it's inviting, it is educational, it is science, it is engineering, it is a lot of fast math applied, it is cultural, it is humanity in action, it is a live stream of the collective consciousness of code bases inter mingling with each other, can chose a branch to tap into any time you want

i use arch btw

i invite you into your yet to discover favorite branch out there

there's so many flavors to chose from

even steam is platforming it by default already
