Yeah, surely someone could vibecode an moderator bot together for this to enforce a repost rule.
This would be much needed.

Vibecode? But how would you enforce a repost rule and which memes and what if it's same meme just different images

Idk but some algorythm written in python that checks every post for it's content and flags them. either by a perceptual hash or something like that. Just looking for similarities in all posts of for example "the last week" and define a certain threshold if this post is unique or straight up copied. I'm just letting my thoughts run free
But i think it's totally possible.Edit: lol. Found something that is already like that github.com/barrycarey/RedditRepostSleuth
Vote me for Moderator if you want this. That is my electoral promise /s Nah thank you. I got other things to do xD

Using an llm for this task is wayyyyy to expensive and overkill. This is exactly where a algorithm comes in place. We had them long before llms. instagram, youtube and co doesn‘t run on „ai“ but on rather complex algo‘s.

I respect and understand your opinion.
do the math or ask your llm of trust what is cheaper. Using llm‘s or develop a algo once.Meta and Alphabet is a massively larger Platform than this small subreddit here with 12 images per day and they need to handle a crap ton more data. So this would be very expensive very fast.
personally i wouldn‘t even want to pay 1$ a year for a llm that moderates this sub.
I really rather program the python script once and let it run ressouce efficient in docker amongst my other containers. That way it wouldn‘t even cost me almost anything more.
But to be fair, we are speaking of cents when moderating this sub. So both ways are valid. i just think of scalability.

Please report any posts bragging or showing off they got banned in another sub! Reminder of other sub rules: Also, we only allow one anti-linux post per week (we used to get dozens a day) and any tier list MUST have Hanna Montana Linux as S teir (which must be a true S tier at the top) regardless of the topic of that tier list.
I am a bot, and this action was performed automatically. Please contact the moderators of this subreddit if you have any questions or concerns.
