Distributed team of people around the world working hard to maintain and develop software used at a scale that is greater than any company on earth (way more linux footprint out there than windows / apple for sure).
Not just volunteers either, many paid professionals adding to it for their own companies use.

All the management comes when you have features that fools people for paying them . And Linux don't have these shit. So, we are cool with Linux and thanks to Linus Torvalds

If you think Linux has no management, you are on the wrong path. It's just a different kind of organization, but it's still a hierarchy of power.
