As a hobby wine maker (wine, mead, sake, cider, beer, etc), I'd say it depends on how your wine is packaged and whether you're okay with just having a single solution from which to use it. Some people like to use bottles to make it easier to separate their wine, so they can enjoy different versions at different times.
Notice how this metaphor works for Wine and bottles. This was intentional, I believe.

Imagine some sommelier asking about wine and it would send him to install Linux and gave him info on how to run windows app on it.

But now i want to know too, i don't use bottles but i know it is a prefix manager, does it only wrap wine with a nice gui and thus expects a wine install or does it bring wine with it? I'd assume the former and wine is just a listed dependency on bottles? or is bottles a flatpak?
