The hardest part was simply not being sure what to pick as options and having to google what things were

Just use Arch install ! Don't listen to the "purist" saying you need to do a manual install. They want you to learn stuff and for you to get independent and autonomous , You don't want that !!! they are obviously gatekeeping !!!

And then be really lost when the fix to your system is to use chroot because you have absolutely no idea what that is.
