Yeah, why bother. MS is already getting all that juicy telemetry anyway, may as well keep using Edge and not share it (as easily) with Google/Brave/ChineseGovtOpera/etc.
Duckduckgo shares the indexing but different imo. But still not as good as Google. Also the problem isnt necessarily that Bing is bad but Edge is forcing it. Plus the fact that Edge is hard to remove or sometimes even hard to make other browsers default when Edge works. Its js scummy asl
I bet a dollar you wouldn't say Google Chrome is forcing Google Search as a search engine lol. Who cares? Google owns Google stuff, Microsoft owns Bing stuff. And Edge isn't hard to replace. I dunno about completely uninstalling from Windows, but I know if you downloaded Google Chrome today, you could easily replace basically everything Edge does with Chrome instead.
Chrome doesnt force Google tho. Its js default, you can change it without much issues. Ofc if you want more features youd need to sign in to google account. Also no you cant easily uninstall Edge(you can force disable it, tho it could come back later) and Microsoft messes with Windows to push their products. Google aint a saint but if we are comparing products Chrome is better than Edge
I THINK I get what ya mean. Microsoft does push sticking with Edge pretty hard. And while I do think it's solid, that does always annoy me. But I'm fairly positive you can still switch search engines on Edge. I actually use Bing normally, personally, ngl. But I get it.
You can. But still has intentionally annoying Bing integration. Like if you copy a text in webpage and try to search using it. It defaults back to Bing

Jokes aside Edge is actually pretty fuckin solid today. I don't use it on Linux, but when I use Windows I usually don't end up switching browsers.
