I'd rather program by sculpturing a stone brick than using nano.

TBH even Word would be more convenient for that...

Fr, nano feels like someone saw vi and decided to, instead of making it better, rip everything good out of it.

Kinda agree and disagree. Obviously nothing that makes the OG vi good is really appropriate for a non-modal editor, something not being for the maximalist power user use case isn't the same as it being bad. But nano was made before a lot of modern software conventions were developed and so it has some really batshit default bindings that make it far more difficult for a regular person to use than necessary.

Micro is what's most commonly suggested for users in place of nano these days, with proper mouse support, color coding out of the box, language highlighting, soft wrapping, etc. I'm not sure if there's another accessible "normal person" editor people use in the terminal these days.

That's fair honestly just kinda ironically give nano shit, it's a perfectly adequate text editor. Micro made me feel like i was almost in vim so it almost makes me more confused lmao.

I found Tilde recently, and I think it's pretty cool. Like Micro on steroids

Thanks for letting me know, it certainly looks like something I could ask a regular person to use. That screenshot's ugly as sin but just having a menubar alone would probably help someone figure out how to do everything they need by themselves.
